Green Day is Hitting the Road
In support of the band's upcoming triple album, Uno! Dos! Tre!, Green Day will launch the first leg of a North American tour this fall, continuing through winter 2013. Rolling Stone reports the full list of dates, including stops in Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto and Las Vegas. (The NYC show will be at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, not at the Garden, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.) The up-and-coming guitar virtuoso has announced the title and release date for his upcoming, full-length album. On October 22, you'll be able to purchase Blak and Blu. SNL Welcomes New Cast Members, Seth MacFarlane Hosts
When the late-night comedy sketch shows kicks off its 38th season this Saturday night, the show will welcome three new cast members, ostensibly filling the slots that opened up when Andy Samberg, Abby Elliott and Kristen Wiig left. (The show will also welcome back Jason Sudeikis, who says he will stay with the show through, at least, January 2013. And featured player Jay Pharoah will play President Obama this season, while Taran Killam has been tapped to portray Representative Paul Ryan.) SNL welcomes Cecily Strong, Tim Robinson and Aidy Bryant. They all have improv cred, according to the announcement in Rolling Stone, though playwright Kristoffer Diaz (The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity) notes, "Why do I let myself think that shows like SNL might hire some people of color?" I can't answer Diaz's question, but I know I will tune in on Saturday night (or rather, I'll watch on Sunday morning via my DVR) to the season premiere, hosted by Family Guy and Ted creator, Seth MacFarlane. (And tune in the following week when Joseph Gordon-Levitt hosts.)

Emmy Update
The Emmy Awards will be handed out soon - September 23, to be exact - and this week brought news of some of the celebs who will be presenting the statuettes. Ricky Gervais, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Louis C.K., Ginnifer Goodwin and Jim Parsons are the first six Emmy presenters to be announced. Tune in to ABC at 8pm on the 23 to see who else is presenting, to see who wins and, most important, to see what everyone is wearing! (Refresh yourself: the nominees are...)

Casting Updates
Kennedy Center Honorees Announced
This week's exciting news: Led Zeppelin will receive the Kennedy Center Honors. (Paging Foo Fighters! You're needed at the Kennedy Center for the Zeppelin tribute!) According to the announcement, "while Led Zeppelin is being honored as a band, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant will each receive the Kennedy Center Honors." The rockers will be joined by Dustin Hoffman, Buddy Guy, David Letterman and ballerina Natalia Makarova. The Honorees will receive (from Secretary Clinton, no less) their medallions on December 1, and will be honored by their peers and admirers the following night. That show will be (edited and) broadcast on CBS on December 26 at 9pm. Visit kennedy-center.org for more information.
