Tony nominations were announced on Tuesday, and I brought you the full list of nominees. As the week went on, there were additional reactions, announcements and Tony-related events:
NYCB's spring season began this week (the spring gala, featuring a world premiere from Justin Peck, will take place next Thursday, May 8), and the Company released this teaser to get you in the mood. Held last week, the annual event honors notable women for the humanitarian work they do. This year's honorees included Sarah Jessica Parker, for her work with New York City Ballet, and Idina Menzel (If/Then), for her work with her theatre camp, A Broader Way. HLN caught up with these and other honorees, as well as presenter Josh Groban. Watch below:

- Carnegie Mellon is the Tony Awards' first higher education partner, and, together, the university and the Tonys will launch a national program to recognize theatre educators. And this year's Tony telecast will include a tribute to Carnegie Mellon's notable alumni. Learn more on TonyAwards.com.
- The Regional Theater Tony Award will be bestowed upon NYC's Signature Theatre, which recently underwent a complete reconstruction. TV Tidbits
- There's a new series on the way from Seth MacFarlane and Jonathan Ames, and it stars Sir Patrick Stewart (No Man's Land). The Wrap has details about Blunt Talk.
- Beau Willimon sat down with Academy Award winner Jim Rash (The Descendants) to talk about writing House of Cards. Willimon and his writing team are busy writing the third season of the Emmy-winning series.
- The Daily Show will welcome SNL writer Michael Che as a correspondent in June. The Hollywood Reporter has more.
- A live tele-production of Grease is heading to FOX. The Wrap reports that the network will air a three-hour special in 2015 (though I'm not sure what they're doing to make the show three hours).
- The official, full-length trailer for the upcoming HBO series The Leftovers, based on the eponymous Tom Perrotta novel, has been released. The series premieres on Sunday, June 29.
Casting News
- Leslie Odom, Jr., (Leap of Faith, Venice) will join Lin-Manuel Miranda (Merrily We Roll Along) and Karen Olivo (Murder Ballad) in the Encores! production of Jonathan Larson's tick, tick...BOOM!. Broadway.com has more.
- The Tony-nominated After Midnight will welcome special guest stars Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole this summer. Broadway.com has the details.
- 9 to 5 alumnae Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are teaming up for the original, Netflix-exclusive series, Grace and Frankie. (Both stars have also spoken Sorkinese, by the way; Fonda on The Newsroom and Tomlin on The West Wing.) Playbill has more about the series.
- Michael Shannon (Grace, Boardwalk Empire), Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) and Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire), among others, will star in Theatre for a New Audience's production of Eugene Ionesco's The Killer. Previews begin May 17; opening night is scheduled for May 29, with the limited engagement set to conclude on June 29. Playbill has details.

- The cast of next season's The Last Ship, with a score by Sting, met the press. Michael Esper (Tales from Red Vienna) and Aaron Lazar (A Little Night Music) are among the ensemble. Broadway.com has the photos.
- Head to Buzz Feed to check out the trailer for David Wain's romantic comedy satire, They Came Together, starring Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler.
- Spin magazine has photos of Foo Fighters and special guests as they record their eighth album.
- Daytime Emmy nominees were announced, bringing us categories like Outstanding Special Class Special. Anyway, Chris Jackson and Lin-Manuel Miranda each earned nods for songs they wrote for Sesame Street, and Alan Cumming is nominated for his work on the animated series, Arthur. Bravo!
- The Love's Labour's Lost cast album has a release date. Well, two to be exact. The album will be released digitally on June 3, while the CD will be released on July 8. Love's Labour's Lost is Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman's musical adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy, and it was seen last summer as part of the Public's Shakespeare in the Park.
