Bruce on Broadway
This is not a drill. Bruce Springsteen is coming to Broadway. I repeat: Bruce Springsteen is coming to Broadway!!! The Boss will bring a scaled down version of his (amazing) concert to Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre for eight weeks this fall. Exact dates will be announced later. For now, fire up the record player, read through Springsteen's memoir, Born to Run, and save money for tickets because, obviously, you'll want to go every night. Broadway.com has more.

Tony Awards
Broadway's biggest night is now in the history books. Herein, all things Tonys:
Comings, Goings, and Extensions
Extension—Hot off the heels of its win for Best Play, Oslo has extended its limited Broadway run. The play, written by J.T. Rogers and featuring (newly minted) Tony winner Michael Aronov, will remain at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre through July 16. Playbill has more.

Coming—Previews for the revival of David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly will begin October 7. A theatre is still yet to be announced, but opening night is scheduled for October 26. Clive Owen (Old Times) stars in the revival, which is directed by Julie Taymor. Playbill has more.

Going
  • The revival of John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation will conclude its limited run earlier than expected. Rather than playing until July 16, the final performance will be this Sunday, June 18. Six Degrees of Separation stars Allison Janney, John Benjamin Hickey, and Corey Hawkins, who earned a Tony nomination for his work. Broadway.com has more.

  • The Pulitzer Prize-winning Lynn Nottage play, Sweat, will conclude its Broadway run on June 25. Though lauded by critics and relevant to today's political climate, the play struggled at the box office and did not win a Tony. Playbill has more.

  • Indecent, which marked Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's Broadway debut, will conclude its Broadway run on June 25. (The production did win two Tonys, one for director Rebecca Taichman and one for lighting designer Christopher Akerlind.) As the press release states, regional productions are planned at Minneapolis's Guthrie Theater, Boston's Huntington Theatre, and at theatres in 20 other locations, including Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Kansas City, Washington DC, and Tel Aviv.
Casting News
  • Tony-nominated playwright Danai Gurira (Eclipsed, Familiar) will appear in the upcoming Marvel film, Avengers: Infinity War. (Gurira is well-known as an actress for her work on The Walking Dead.) The Wrap has more.

  • Recording artist Ingrid Michaelson will make her Broadway debut when she joins the company of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 for five weeks this summer. Michaelson will play Sonya July 3-August 15. (She will not perform August 2-6, though.) Brittain Ashford, who originated the role, is taking a temporary leave, and is scheduled to rejoin the company on August 16.

  • Casting for the upcoming Encores! Off-Center season has been announced, and you're going to want tickets: Steven Pasquale (The Bridges of Madison County, The Robber Bridegroom) will lead the company of Assassins, starring at John Wilkes Booth. He'll be joined by, among others, Alex Brightman (School of Rock), Julie White (Airline Highway), Cory Michael Smith (Cock), Steven Boyer (Hand to God), John Ellison Conlee (Murder Ballad, The (Curious Case of the) Watson Intelligence), and Shuler Hensley (Sweet Charity). Next, Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon, Preludes) will star in The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin. Closing out the season is Really Rosie, which will feature Taylor Caldwell (Runaways), as well as choreography by tap phenom Ayodele Casel. Playbill has more.

  • After Steven Pasquale tackles Assassins, he'll return to Broadway to star in Disgraced playwright Ayad Akhtar's Junk. Previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre begin October 5, and opening night is scheduled for November 2. Playbill has more.

  • Isla Fisher (Nocturnal Animals) has joined the cast of Tag, an upcoming comedy that also stars Ed Helms, Hannibal Buress, Jon Hamm, and Rashida Jones. The Hollywood Reporter has more.

  • Full casting for the Broadway-bound stage adaptation of Frozen has been announced. Among those joining Caissie Levy (Elsa) and Patti Murin (Anna) are Kevin Del Aguila (Peter and the Starcatcher) and Andrew Pirozzi. The show begins its Broadway run in spring 2018. Playbill has more.

  • Get to know Ashley D. Kelley, the talented star of Bella: An American Tall Tale. Broadway Box asks Kelley to "Introduce Yourselfie," a regular feature on the site.

  • Katrina Lenk (The Band's Visit, Indecent) and Will Pullen (Sweat) won this year's Clarence Derwent Awards, which honor actors having breakthrough/debut years. Broadway.com has more.

  • John Mulaney is bringing his "Kid Gorgeous" comedy tour to NYC's Radio City Music Hall. The show is scheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2018, and tickets go on sale this Wednesday, June 21, at 10am. Broadway World has more.

  • The lineup for Broadway in Bryant Park has been announced, and Playbill has the full schedule. Concerts take place on Thursdays beginning July 6, and continue through August 10.
