New Foo Fighters Album
Foo Fighters are releasing a new album, Concrete and Gold, this fall!!! Set for release on September 15, the album, the band's ninth, will be supported by a national tour. Casting News
Broadway—Initial casting for the Broadway bow of The Band's Visit has been announced. Many of the actors from the acclaimed off-Broadway production will be reprising their roles, including Tony Shalhoub (The Price, Act One), Katrina Lenk (Indecent), and Jonathan Raviv. Previews for the David Yazbek–Itamar Moses musical begin October 7 at the Barrymore Theatre, with opening night scheduled for November 9. Broadway News has more.

Concert—Tony nominee Patrick Wilson (The Full Monty, Guys and Dolls) will (briefly) return to the NY musical stage. He's set to perform in the New York City Center concert production of Brigadoon, alongside Kelli O'Hara and Robert Fairchild. Wilson replaces the previously announced Steven Pasquale, who withdrew from the production after being cast in Ayad Akhtar's Junk, which will be running at Lincoln Center at the same time. Brigadoon also stars Heidi Blickenstaff ([title of show], Something Rotten), and runs November 15-19. Visit the City Center website for ticketing information.

Television—Stage and screen veteran Michael Esper (Lazarus, Nurse Jackie) will star in the upcoming FX limited series, Trust. Throughout the ten episodes, Trust will tell the story of the 1973 kidnapping of oil tycoon John Paul Getty's grandson. Donald Sutherland plays the wealthy patriarch; Esper will play his son, John Paul Getty II, and Harris Dickinson is set to portray the kidnapped grandson, John Paul Getty III. Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank will co-star as Getty III's mother, Gail. Deadline has more.

Tour—Get ready to "get on your feet" in your town: Initial casting for the On Your Feet tour has been announced. Christie Prades and Mauricio Martinez will lead the company as Gloria and Emilio Estefan, respectively. The tour launches in Buffalo on September 22. Broadway.com has more.   • Justin Peck (Everywhere We Go, The Decalogue) has been named one of Dance magazine's most influential people in dance today. Also on the list are Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), ABT dancer Misty Copeland, and jooker Li'l Buck. Visit Dance magazine to see the full list of influencers.

  • Tony Bennett is this year's recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, awarded by the Library of Congress. Bennett will receive the award at a November ceremony. Playbill has more.

  • The Hollywood Reporter has released its list of the 100 most powerful people in Hollywood. Disney's Bob Iger tops the list, with Reese Witherspoon (Wild), Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), producer Scott Rudin (A Doll's House Part 2, the upcoming Carousel revival), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant), and Oprah landing elsewhere on the list.   • The Great Comet, Come From Away, and A Doll's House, Part 2 are the recipients of Actor's Equity Association's Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award. Previous winners include Hamilton and American Idiot. Theater Mania has more.

  • The Clive Owen-led revival of David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly will play the Cort Theatre. As announced last week, previews begin October 7, and opening night is scheduled for October 26. Playbill has more.

  • Speaking of the Cort Theatre, its current resident, Indecent, will stick around a little longer. Last week, it was announced that the Paula Vogel play would conclude its run on June 25, but producer Daryl Roth announced today that the run is being extended through August 6. 

  • The cast album for the Tony-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen will be released on vinyl July 21. It's now available for pre-order. Visit Playbill for more.

  • The New Group has announced its 2017-2018 season, and it includes Jerry Springer: The Opera and Lois Smith (Marjorie Prime) in Lily Thorne's Peace for Mary Frances. Broadway.com has more.

  • The top-notch revival of Present Laughter, starring Tony winner Kevin Kline, will be filmed tonight (June 23) for BroadwayHD. (The performance will not be live-streamed; the filmed version will be available for on-demand viewing at a later date.) Playbill has more.

  • Get ready, friends: Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later is coming to Netflix August 4. The series is a sequel to the original flick, which also enjoyed a pre-quel series on Netflix a couple of years ago. Watch the trailer for 10 Years Later below.
